20+ Binge Worthy Tv Shows

We’ve all been there. You’ve just watched every single episode of your new favourite show, maybe twice, and now you have to wait for the next season to come out, or you’ve realized it’s all over and there’s no new episodes coming. If it’s the latter, I’m very sorry for your loss. And then after your show is over you’ve watched every episode of one of your old favourites, and now finally you’re left jumping through terrible shows trying to find a decent one that you can spend every evening for the next two weeks binging all 6 seasons of.

I have watched a lot of TV. More than I’m proud to say. But perhaps from my TV obsession you can find at least one show that you like and can go binge crazy for. So here are over 20 shows that you can go binge crazy for, and yes I have watched them all. Don’t worry, not every single season or episode.

Theses are shows I really loved, but sadly only have one season with only a few episodes, or have been cancelled, leaving us without a satisfying ending.

Witches of East End – 2 seasons, total of 23 episodes, starring Jenna Dewan Tatum.
Camelot – 1 season, 10 episodes, starring Jaime Campbell Bower.
Luke Cage – 1 season, 13 episodes, available on Netflix, season 2 will be coming in June!
Firefly – 1 season, 14 episodes with a movie continuation afterwards called Serenity.

Now onto the real list:

2 seasons, 26 episodes – First season is available on Netflix. It follows the adventures of history professor Lucy Preston, scientist Rufus Carlin and soldier Wyatt Logan who have been recruited to attempt to stop a mysterious organization called Rittenhouse from changing the course of American history through time travel. Rittenhouse gets ahold of a time machine and travels back to major historical events, like the Hindenburg. the assassination of Lincoln, the watergate tape, visiting historical icons like JFK, Davy Crockett, and Bonnie & Clyde.

Currently on it’s second season, 20 episodes, starring Anthony Hopkins. The story takes place in Westworld, a fictional, technologically advanced Wild-West-themed amusement park populated by android “hosts”. The park caters to high-paying guests who may indulge their wildest fantasies within the park without fear of retaliation from the hosts, who are prevented by their programming from harming humans. Until the hosts start to gain their own consciousness.

4 seasons, 89 episodes. A young woman named Emily Thorne(VanCamp) comes to the Hamptons and rents a beach house (previously her childhood home) next door to the mansion of a wealthy family, the Graysons. Emily is actually Amanda Clarke, whose father was framed by the Graysons for treason when she was a little girl. After a lengthy trial, he was imprisoned for life, and was murdered in prison by associates of the people who framed him. Meanwhile, Amanda was separated from him and spent most of her time in a juvenile correctional facility, only to find out her father was killed six weeks before she was released on her 18th birthday. She now returns to the Hamptons as an adult to get revenge on those who wronged her father and her. Her primary target is Victoria Grayson (Stowe), matriarch of the Grayson family, who loved and betrayed Amanda’s father. The show focuses on Emily’s plot to destroy every individual who played a role in her father’s imprisonment. Along the way, she discovers various facts about her father’s past which change her plans many times. As the series progresses, Emily brings in other individuals as allies for her plan.

Criminal Minds

13 seasons, 299 episodes. The series follows a group of FBI profilers who set about catching various criminals through behavioural profiling. The plot focuses on the team working cases and on the personal lives of the characters, depicting the hardened life and statutory requirements of a profiler.

RuPaul’s Drag Race

10 seasons, 125 episodes, plus the all stars seasons (3 seasons, 23 episodes). Season 8 is on Netflix and I suggest you start there and then go find seasons 1-7 and 9. Then start watching the All Stars seasons.

Think of this as America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway and Match Game mixed together but for Drag Queens and with the added bump of immense comedy.

4 seasons, 87 episodes. First 3 seasons are on Netflix. In the first season, James Gordon, a new recruit in the Gotham City Police Department is paired with veteran detective Harvey Bullock to solve the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Gordon becomes involved with Gotham’s crime families including gangster Fish Mooney and crime lords Carmine Falcone and Salvatore Maroni.

Vanderpump Rules

6 seasons, 112 episodes, you can watch it on slice tv’s website. The series features The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Lisa Vanderpump in the title role and her staff at Vanderpump’s West Hollywood, California, restaurant SUR. The reason this show is so entertaining is because if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant you know the drama that comes with it. This is my favourite trash reality tv show, it has all the drama you could want.

Dear White People

2 seasons, 20 episodes, available on Netflix. This show follows a group of black students at a predominantly white school who face social injustice. Each episode focuses on a particular character, except for the finale, which ties all the characters together.

In each episode, Veronica solves a different stand-alone case while working to solve a more complex mystery. The first two seasons of the series each had a season-long mystery arc, introduced in the first episode of the season and solved in the season finale. The third season took a different format, focusing on smaller mystery arcs that would last the course of several episodes.

Brooklyn Nine Nine

5 seasons, 111 episodes, the first 4 seasons on Netflix. The series stars Andy Samberg and Terry Crews and revolves around Jake Peralta, an immature but talented NYPD detective in Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct, who comes into immediate conflict with his new commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Raymond Holt.

5 Seasons, 114 episodes. This show is a remake of Beverly Hills, 90210 which aired from 1990-2000, an like the first one it follows the lives of several wealthy students attending West Beverly Hills High School in the upscale and star-studded community of Beverly Hills, California. The show later focuses on the same group of friends when they graduate and begin their lives in the adult world. Some attend college at California University, while others begin exploring avenues beyond post-secondary education. The original show had 10 seasons and 293 episodes. That one is a good watch too!

Meanwhile, the arrival of Cristal’s opportunistic nephew Sam—who becomes romantically involved with Fallon’s wayward brother Steven—threatens to expose her shady past. The Carringtons form a united front in the wake of the suspicious death of Cristal’s former lover, but things at the mansion do not remain harmonious for long.

Are You The One?

6 seasons, 62 episodes which you can watch on MTV’s website. If you like trashy reality tv, this for you! Are You the One?, sometimes abbreviated as AYTO?, is an American reality television series on MTV, in which young singles try to find love. A group of men and women are secretly paired into male-female couples by producers, via a matchmaking algorithm. Then, while living together, the contestants try to identify all of these “perfect matches.” If they succeed, the entire group shares a prize of up to $1 million. Over the course of each season, the contestants have the opportunity to pair up in different combinations to compete against each other to win dates, as well as the opportunity to learn in the “truth booth” if a given couple is a correct match. At the end of each episode, the contestants pair up in a “matching ceremony” and learn how many perfect matches they have, but not which matches are correct. From season 3 onward, the prize was reduced any time that the house failed to identify any matches other than those already confirmed via the truth booth.

2 Seasons, 29 episodes. Available on Netflix. It revolves around three talented young singers who navigate the music business on their road to success. The series, which is set in Atlanta, consists of original music, along with musical fantasy sequences, as dreams of the future. Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown co-star. The music in this is actually so good! You can listen to it on spotify.

This Is Us

2 seasons, 36 episodes, the first season is available on Netflix. The series follows the lives of siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall (known as the “Big Three”), and their parents Jack and Rebecca Pearson. It takes place in the present and using flashbacks, at various times in the past. Kevin and Kate are the two surviving members of a triplet pregnancy, born six weeks premature on Jack’s 36th birthday in 1980; their brother is stillborn. Believing they were meant to have three children, Jack and Rebecca, who are white, decide to adopt Randall, a black child born the same day and brought to the same hospital after his biological father abandoned him at a fire station.

If you’re looking to experience all the emotions, look no further.

Masterchef Australia

10 seasons, 625 episodes – the ultimate binge amount! MasterChef Australia has a different format to that of the original British MasterChef and the U.S. MasterChef formats. Initial rounds consist of a large number of hopeful contestants from across Australia individually “auditioning” by presenting a food dish before the three judges in order to gain one of 50 semi-final places. Entrants must be over 18 years old whose main source of income cannot come from preparing and cooking fresh food in a professional environment.

The semi-finalists then compete in several challenges which test their food knowledge and preparation skills. In Season 1, the top 50 competed until 20 were left, with the final 20 progressing to the main stage of the show. From Season 2, 24 contestants progress. The contestants will then be whittled down through a number of individual and team-based cooking challenges and weekly elimination rounds until a winning MasterChef is crowned. The winner plays for a prize that includes chef training from leading professional chefs, the chance to have their own cookbook published, and a $250,000 in cash.

36 seasons, 538 episodes – Another ultimate binge if you dare. Sometimes when I’m in between other shows, I’ll just pick a random season of Survivor and start watching. This show places a group of strangers in an isolated location, where they must provide food, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants, until only one remains and is given the title of “Sole Survivor” and is awarded the grand prize of US$1,000,000.

Once Upon a Time

7 seasons, 154 episodes. The first six seasons are available on Netflix. The first six seasons are largely set in the fictitious seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, with the character of Emma Swan serving as the lead, who’s parents are Prince Charming and Snow White. The show borrows elements and characters from the Disney franchise and popular Western literature, folklore, and fairy tales.

6 seasons, 121 episodes. The show contains elements of supernatural and science fiction, and follows the survivors of a commercial jet airliner crash, flying between Sydney and Los Angeles, California, on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean. The story is told in a heavily serialized manner. Episodes typically feature a primary storyline set on the island, augmented by flashback or flash forward sequences which provide additional insight into the involved character(s).

Grey’s Anatomy

14 seasons, 317 episodes and the first 13 seasons are on Netflix. Be prepared to get emotionally invested in the characters, and have your heart ripped out as one or many of them dies. The series follows Meredith Grey, the daughter of an esteemed general surgeon named Ellis Grey, following her acceptance into the residency program at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. During her time as a resident, Grey works alongside her fellow doctors, who each struggle to balance personal lives with the hectic work and training schedules.

First Dates (UK Version)

9 Seasons, 68 episodes. The programme is filmed at the Paternoster Chop House restaurant in Central London, showing many people on dates, all of whom have not met each other before, that have been matched together for a blind date. At the end of the date, the couples are interviewed together and asked whether they would like to see each other again. Be prepared for laughter, cringing, and smiles.

Law and Order: SVU

19 seasons, 432 episodes. Another ultimate binge here. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit originally centred almost exclusively on the detectives of the Special Victims Unit in a fictional version of the 16th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. Certain episodes go into detail about detectives’ personal lives and how they may or may not tie into the crimes dealt with during the show. Typical episodes follow the detectives and their colleagues as they investigate and prosecute sexually based offenses, child abuse, and crimes against the elderly.

The Good Place

2 seasons, 26 episodes with the first season on Netflix. This show is great for a laugh. The series focuses on Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), a woman who wakes up in the afterlife and is introduced by Michael  to “The Good Place”, a Heaven-like utopia he designed, in reward for her righteous life. She realizes that she was sent there by mistake and must hide her morally imperfect behaviour and try to become a better person.

Stranger Things

2 seasons, 17 episodes, all on Netflix. Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s, the first season focuses on the investigation into the disappearance of a young boy amid supernatural events occurring around the town, including the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities who helps the missing boy’s friends in their own search. The second season, titled Stranger Things 2, is set a year after the first, and deals with attempts of the characters to return to normal and consequences that linger from the first season.

8 seasons, 178 episodes. The series narrative follows a trio of sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches of all time, who use their combined “Power of Three” to protect innocent lives from evil beings such as demons and warlocks. Each sister possesses unique magical powers that grow and evolve, while they attempt to maintain normal lives in modern-day San Francisco. Keeping their supernatural identities separate and secret from their ordinary lives often becomes a challenge for them, with the exposure of magic having far-reaching consequences on their various relationships and resulting in a number of police and FBI investigations throughout the series.

The Mole

5 Seasons, 45 episodes. The series is a reality competition in which the contestants work as a group to add money to a pot that only one of them will eventually win. Among the contestants is one person who has been designated “the Mole” by the producers and is tasked with sabotaging the group’s money-making efforts. At the end of each episode, the contestant who knows the least about the mole, as decided by the results of a quiz, is eliminated from the game.

Lie to Me

3 seasons, 48 episodes, all on Netflix. In the show, Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) and his colleagues in The Lightman Group accept assignments from third parties (commonly local and federal law enforcement), and assist in investigations, reaching the truth through applied psychology: interpreting microexpressions, through the Facial Action Coding System, and body language.
