The sun is out, the temperature is up, and the drinks are pouring. Yes, it is indeed patio season again. That wonderful time of year has finally come, leaving you with one question: which patio do we go to today? Below is a list of Halifax’s must visit patios based on location, patio style/decor, and the businesses themselves. I personally hope you get to every one of these patios this summer, maybe even twice 😉
Right on the waterfront, delicious food, tasty drinks, all the sun you could want.
This gorgeous patio is like a little escape from the city. It is completely enclosed and beautifully decorated.
The perfect place to sip on a perfect bottle of wine and people watch. Perfectly located on the corner of Barrington St. and Sackville St.
The Level Bar is the Prince George’s lobby bar but it has a patio too! This patio gives me tropical resort vibes, but with a city view.
The Rooftop, owned by the same group responsible for the Stubborn Goat, is a big question mark so far. Unsure if this will be reopening this summer but I certainly hope it does! Their sangria is delicious and it gets great sunshine all day, well obviously since it’s on the roof.
Stillwell is so well known for this awesome patio! Dog friendly, always packed, guaranteed good beer and food. Plus the Dairy Bar being attached to it is a sweet bonus.
This patio has a lovely view of Citadell Hill and great sunshine. And if you’re a sports fan, when the sun goes down you can head inside and check out the game on their 2 storey screen. Plus you an check out their twitter to see their drink deals!
This sweet little north-end spot takes you away from all the hustle and bustle of downtown, while also giving you some sweet tiki drinks and Asian fusion food.
You want great tequila? You want delicious tacos? You want Mexico vibes? Look no further. The best time to go here is between 12-3 for peak sunshine hours and their lunch deal.
The Bicycle Thief is the perfect patio if you want to be right by the waterfront, catching some sun and doing some boardwalk people watching.
This is a perfect spot to get a great happy hour deal on drinks AND oysters! Yum.
Billow Bar is set right on top of the Agricola Street Brasserie. It gives all the rooftop vibes with the nice aspect of being in the North End, away from the busy downtown.
- Great selection of diverse beers. 2 Dog friendly. 3. There’s a cat in the photo below – that’s all that needs to be said.
From this list you should have gathered that I’m a sucker for a rooftop patio and this is definitely one. All day sun and on Saturdays they have sangria on special.
